Lake Rwegura BurundiThe site of Rwegura has got its fame thanks to both the tea factory complex, one of the biggest of the country, and its lake created following the construction of a hydroelectric dam for mainly the electricity supply of the town of Bujumbura . As for the vast tea plantations, they offer to the visitor their splendid greenness forming a magnificent vista in this highland region around the Kibira Park , close to Rwandese border.

BURUNDIDES proposes to tourists a stopover for a picnic and relaxation on this site at about 2 300 metres of altitude, together with the attractions of north-east of Burundi . Also, an excursion is worth undertaking in this fresh air so as to survey among others, a fall of 400 metres high between the dam and the hydroelectric station.

At a short distance from the national Road no.10 northwards, the visitor can equally have a bath in the thermal spring basin of Rwegura , at more than 2 660 metres of altitude.
